Avondale Redevelopment Corporation

Avondale Redevelopment Corporation (ARC) opened its doors in 1980 to acquire, develop and manage real estate in the Avondale community. ARC has built and sold over 200 units of housing, developed over 100,000 square feet of commercial/retail space, and developed and managed over 100 units of housing.

ARC is involved in a city-sponsored targeted initiative known as the Vacant Building Maintenance Program and a second program, Place Matters Initiatives, supported by The United Way, Local Inititives Support Corporation, and the Sisters of Charity Ministry Foundation. The purposes of these efforts are to help eliminate vacant buildings and other distressed properties by allocating resources to markets in need of development. Together, development plans are expected to produce 30 units of housing valued at $7 million in targeted areas of Avondale.
